We use the Icon Aesthetic System because it’s one machine that powers multiple laser handpieces. This is important because the laser’s characteristics -- the type of laser and the wavelength at which it operates -- determine how each laser is used. For example, a laser that’s perfect for one procedure, like eliminating scars, won’t work for other aesthetic procedures.
Having more than one laser means that Dr. Mielke and Nurse Practitioner Sandi can customize treatments to meet each patient’s needs. Additionally, the Icon has a unique delivery system that optimizes energy, along with several features designed to ensure your comfort and enhance results.
Thanks to the Icon’s diverse laser options, we use the system to treat a variety of aesthetic concerns. It can:
Our knowledge and expertise using lasers is the most important reason you can depend on safe treatment. However, it’s also good to know that the Icon Aesthetic System was developed with patient safety in mind. The system includes several patented innovations to ensure comfortable treatment:
Skintel® Melanin Reader™: Melanin is the pigment responsible for the color of your skin. The production of melanin increases in response to sun exposure, causing tanning and freckles. The Skintel Melanin Reader tells us the precise density of melanin in your skin, which is essential for certain procedures, such as hair removal.
Advanced Contact Cooling™: This is built into the Icon system, where it automatically maintains a cool temperature that protects your skin and adds to your comfort during treatments.
Multiple microlenses for customized treatments: Some of the Icon handpieces can be fitted with specialized optic lenses to customize treatment. Some lenses change how deeply the laser penetrates, while others enlarge the treatment area so that a full-face resurfacing can be accomplished in less than 15 minutes.
ThreeForMe™ treatment: This is a laser application that’s unique to the Icon system. It treats three age-related skin concerns at one time: wrinkles, sun damage, and facial veins.
